Welcome to our blog, we are so glad you are here!

Here on the Sofia Sardo by Design Blog you will find all things interior design in the Algarve and beyond. Our dedicated team are here to bring you tips and tricks for creating stellar interior design solutions, inspiration and insight into our project portfolio and most importantly, who we are!

To kick off our blog I thought it would be fair to introduce myself in our first official post! Hello! My name is Sofia Sardo, I’m an interior designer and the founder and owner of Sofia Sardo by Design.

Born in Lisbon and raised in South Africa, I grew up in a vibrant mixing-pot of cultures and influences that have helped shape my life. 

I moved to Portugal in 1999 where I met my South African husband and started a beautiful family. I love living in this beautiful haven called The Algarve. When I am not working you will find me spending time walking on the beach whenever possible and enjoy being surrounded by nature. Hanging out with my family and friends, listening to good music and enjoying a hearty dinner around the fire of a braai (BBQ) are just some of my favourite past-times.

I’m passionate about bespoke interior design, originally from a fashion design and textiles background I enjoy all things art, design and authentic craftsmanship!

I am so grateful you are here and I’d love for you to join me and my amazing team on this journey, as we show you some of our design projects, offer inspiration, tips and tricks along the way.

I am a firm believer that home is where the heart is and every home should be the centre of happiness.
